Albert Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. According to Albert Einstein, I was insane! I have competed in a couple 90-Day and 60-Day Challenges and am active at my local Life Time Fitness but I was stuck at a plateau. Despite being stuck at a plateau, I continued to do the same classes, same workouts, and same nutrition and was still so frustrated I wasn’t seeing any results. I felt like I was wasting my time and energy! I was ready to accept the fact that I am a busy mother of 4 amazing children and this was the body that I am able to achieve and maintain. But all that changed when I talked to my trainer Marcus!
I decided I wanted to make a change especially coming into the holiday season and the season of over-indulgences! I was sick of being frustrated and wanted to see a stronger, healthier me! I had been attending fight shape classes and discussed my goals and frustrations with my trainer Marcus. He was very supportive and he had a plan! We decided that I was going to sign up for the 60-Day Challenge and revamp my routine! First things first, I needed to D.TOX. I bought the kit from the LifeCafe and started on day one of the challenge! It felt great to get my nutrition under control! I loved how the D.TOX program was broken down and easy to follow. I also added personal one-on-one training sessions with Marcus. We focused on weight training, mainly targeting the lower body and abdominals. I also knew I needed to train smarter, not harder so I updated my AMA (Active Metabolic Assessment). After doing this assessment I used the LT Connect app and received specific workouts based on my heart rates. I love using this app because its easy to use, motivating and gives me different workouts all based on my heart rates.
Between cleaning up my diet through the D.TOX program, my new AMA cardio workouts, and the personal one-on-one training sessions with Marcus, I was feeling great! I also continued with Fight Shape classes, which are my favorite workout! I wasn’t adding any more time in the gym, just switching up my routine and training smarter! I was finally starting to see a change in the scale and my body! I was breaking through my plateau! I was nervous with both Thanksgiving and Christmas falling within the 60-Day Challenge! I had attended the Try-it Tuesdays regarding nutrition and learned a lot! I learned to focus on eating lean protein, vegetables and healthy fats. I also learned it was ok to indulge a little and not feel guilty! I made it through Thanksgiving week and had one of the biggest decreases in body fat that week! I was more motivated than ever and knew I could stick with this plan throughout the 60 days, but also forever! I don’t feel like I am on a “diet” but more of a healthy lifestyle with the knowledge to make healthy decisions no matter what holiday or event comes around. Week after week, I kept seeing the scale and body fat number decrease! I am amazed at the change in my body just by following my AMA, clean, healthy eating after the D.TOX, and lifting weights with Marcus. They feel like little adjustments but made such a huge impact!
At the end of the 60-Day Challenge, I am the leanest I have ever been! I have more energy to chase around my 4 children and to enjoy life! I feel amazing! I have learned a lot about what my body needs to be healthy and strong. I thought I would feel relieved to be done with the Challenge at the end of the 60 days, but honestly, I don’t feel the need to change anything. This new lifestyle is something I feel like I can maintain easily! If I can make it through Thanksgiving and Christmas and not feel deprived, I know I can maintain this every day! And if another plateau occurs I know to update my AMA, do another D.TOX and slightly adjust my routine!
