Danny’s Story

The years 2018-2019 were my rock bottom. I abruptly closed the business I was running for 10 years and as a result, went through bankruptcy and 4 lawsuits. I was 25.4% Body Fat, and my partner dumped me, claiming I was not attractive enough to be with.  Needless to say, I was ready for a fresh start!

I made the choice to go back to my first love of dance, move to Vegas, and join Life Time. How could I make up for lost time? Where could I begin to heal and rebuild myself? I joined Life Time on Feb. 10, 2020, at 17.4% Body Fat and 84.9 lbs Skeletal Muscle Mass, and on Nov. 7, 2020 (the start of the challenge), I was at 14.5% Body Fat and 92.4 lbs Skeletal Muscle Mass. For me, this 60day was more than just a “Most Improved Fitness Challenge,” it was a way for me to bring back my inner fire. This refocusing brought momentum to my routine!

Taking full advantage of my membership, I enrolled in Alpha, GTX, PIT, Group Fitness, Ashtanga, and even Surrender for recovery. Rotating my routine kept a freshness to my 60 days of fitness. In addition to my fitness gains, I utilized Life Time programs on nutrition and took advantage of the Life Time supplements. I learned that my nutrition was not ideally balanced, especially being a vegetarian. I began incorporating a regiment of Life Time’s Isolate Protein to hit my grams per pound of my goal weight and added the unflavored UCAN superstarch into my Isolate Protein drinks. This was a huge step in the right direction that gave me the energy to make it through my long days of fitness. Inspired by these improvements, I included the Life Time Performance Multivitamin and enjoyed their convenience and ease with the AM and PM servings. I did one Life Time All-In-One Meal Replacement shake a day and added Lifetime Creatine and BCAA for my recovery.  This greatly helped with my soreness and allowed me to keep pushing my workouts to a new level.

Beyond the physical aspect, I carried a unique goal to meet one new member every day and learn about their fitness journey. They embraced me, and I was fortunate to join a community of fellow members who were on similar health and wellness paths.  It is a powerful feeling to be in a strong community, making even the hard days manageable. The Life Time leaders were welcoming, and I truly respect them as my mentors. Every single one of them took me under their wings, held me to high standards, and had something special to contribute to my training and overall journey. I finally found my people!

Today, Jan. 3, 2021, I have reached 13.6% Body Fat and 93.9 lbs Skeletal Muscle Mass. While I’m certainly proud of these measurable improvements, I see now that it was less about numbers and more about what a positive addition each of us can be to the Life Time community.  The support we have at Life Time will keep me a member for life. In this new year of 2021, I am ready and eager to raise the bar again. Who knows what that will look like, but I am excited and motivated to find out.
