From a size 10 to a size 4! I’m Allison, and I’m 33 years old. The 60-day program has been such a transformative journey for me. It hasn’t been easy. This has been a major lifestyle change to maximize my quality of life! The best thing about the 60-day program is that I learned a lot about myself, and I feel accomplished!

The 60-day program provided helpful tools such as workouts, meal and snack recipes, techniques for recovery, regular check-ins, and overall positive motivation. It wasn’t just the tools of the 60-day program that helped me reach my goal, but there were two important people who continued to really push me through the program: two trainers, Duke Richman and Crystal Irvin.  They reinforced the importance of being accountable for myself and constantly gave me the motivation I needed. If I was working out on my own, Duke or Crystal would often come by to fix my form and/or make my workouts more intense. They did everything to make me better and to push me harder.

I weighed in weekly, if not multiple times during the week, to keep myself accountable for my food intake, overall diet, and appropriate workouts based on my daily diet and end-of-program goals. Duke spent a lot of time with me explaining the importance of diet and how different types of food are metabolized. He TRULY held me accountable for any food I consumed over the last 60 days. I learned that it wasn’t only about losing pounds on the scale. I learned to value my gains in muscle and body fat loss instead of focusing on my overall weight. Diet was the most challenging aspect of this program. Having enough protein in my diet was and continues to be a challenge. Despite my difficulty with the diet aspect of life, it was motivating to see the progress and results throughout the 60 days.

Professionally, I work with the geriatric population and see what a difference having an active lifestyle does for a person’s quality of life. My job has given me true insight on why it is important to not wait to take action and control of our well-being and our own bodies. Some people may do it for vanity, but that’s just an added bonus. Considering that I am at a peak point of stress in my life, my improved physical health has directly impacted my mental health in a positive way.

With my experience in geriatrics combined with what I’ve learned and gained over the 60-day program, the changes I have made to lead a healthier lifestyle enables me to enjoy life and activities while still in my thirties. I feel as though I have enhanced my quality of life not only for the present, but hope to sustain this way of life for many years and decades to come. In 60 days, I’ve come to appreciate the power of diet and exercise not only for my physical health, but my mental health as well. I have a newfound appreciation for my overall health as it has empowered me to continue to grow in all facets of life. My hope is to be a role model of strength and positivity so I can remain active and healthy for my two young children (ages 2 and 4).
