Michael’s Story
Crushed it!
On January 10, 2022 I did my initial consultation and set my goals. My In-body on January 10 was 236.1 lbs weight and 24.3% body fat. I took my before pictures on January 20 and boy are they embarrassing. My main goals were to lose weight and drop body fat percentage. I knew it was ambitious, but I wanted to drop 20lbs and get under 18% body fat during the 60day. I got in this rut where I was busy at work and would put myself and my health last. One of the beauties of the Life Time Training app is it tracks everything, so I knew by looking back at it that I had only visited the club 6 times from September through December.
I knew the 60day would be the right platform for me to jumpstart treating myself well again. I also knew the only way for me to lose the weight that I wanted to, was to show up and eat healthy. My other goals or habits were to show up to Lifetime every day whether I thought I could make it through a workout or not, meal prep so there wouldn’t be any last-minute bad choices when I was busy and track my food to ensure I got it right every time.
During the 60day Stan M. and Scott D. went overboard with the amount of time and effort they put into motivating us and keeping us on the right path. We had a group chat in the Life Time Training app called Scott and Stan’s 60day Squad where everyone could share, inspire and push each other along the way. I’m truly humbled to have gone through this with such a determined group. They also had additional workouts available Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoon seminars to teach us how to live healthier lives. During the 60day I did the small group training classes. Not only do you get incredible workouts but you get do it alongside of these remarkable individuals who I’m happy to call my fit fam. Alpha classes with Stan M, who somehow always seems to tailor every workout specifically for you, Scott D, who challenges you to do what you think you can’t and work harder every day and Scott C, who has you working to pure exhaustion every time. GTX classes with Shelby D and Marina H are absolutely a staple to sweat it out and get in shape. I also found a new love in Saturday morning Core classes with DaniĆ©le, working all those little muscles you didn’t know you had. Life Time Gainesville has some amazing talent and after every workout I find myself smiling walking out the door. I remember seeing a family coming in to join the club when I was walking out and the little girl asked her parents why everyone was smiling. Lifetime creates this culture that is welcoming and inspires greatness. You can tell everyone is grateful to be a part of it.
During this 60day I took Lifetime supplements to help me stay the course. AM/PM Performance Multivitamins, Vitamin D3 + K2, Digestive Enzymes, Zinc + Quercetin, Vitamin C, Magnesium, Glucosamine Chondroitin, Omega-3 Fish Oil, Multi-Probiotic, BCAA’s, Life Greens, Fiber, Vegan Protein Powder, and Vegan All-in-One Protein Powder.
Looking at the Life Time Training pp I can see I’ve visited the club 50 days since the 60day started and that’s with 3 days out after I tweaked my back on a deadlift and 5 days out in Colorado skiing. Talk about going from 0 to 60. One of the biggest things I learned during the 60day while tracking my food, was the actual size of portions and weighing my food. I always thought I ate pretty healthy, but I definitely was eating too much. Having a daily calorie goal as well as macros and knowing to try to get around 40g of protein per sitting was a game-changer to plan out the day.
My InBody on March 12 was 210.7 lbs weight and 15.5% body fat. I lost 25.4 lbs and 8.8% body fat during the 60day. I crushed my goals and most importantly I feel great. I knew those were good numbers, but it only really sunk in when I looked in the Life Time Training app at the chart for fat mass. It shows a drop from 57.37 lbs down to 32.66 lbs of fat mass, Holy crap. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that but holy crap that’s a big difference. I still have some work to put in to get to where I want to be and to stay there but doing the 60day helped me jumpstart my lifetime goals.
My lifestyle picture is of me in front of the board after one of Scott’s Sunday morning Alpha challenges. Life Time is certainly a big part of my lifestyle. I look forward every day to coming in and putting in the work. I can’t tell if I’m sore anymore since I’m probably always sore but now I crave that feeling and it feels good. A major contributor for my success is consistency and just walking through the door gives you a sense of accomplishment. I made it in again today! One of the great things about the 60day this time was habit-forming, so that the exercise goals and healthy choices turn into lifestyle changes and not just a 60-Day challenge. I just signed up for the Spartan Race in DC on May 21 so I know what I will be doing for the next 60 days… Crushing It!
