Georgie’s Partner Story

My challenge partner was my sister Roxie.  Roxie and I go to the gym together every morning and also some nights.  When one of us does not feel like getting up to go to the gym, the other will motivate the other to get up and go.  We fuel each other with our energy, and we hold each other accountable.  We send each other pictures of the food we are eating, and we spend time every week planning out our workouts at Life Time as well as our meals for the week.

This journey has not been easy for either of us but with the support of each other and our Life Time family, it has just become our lifestyle.  Roxie and I have a history of mental health issues, but since becoming members at Life Time, our mental health has improved so much.  Physically, and mentally, we are both in the best place we have ever been!

Our absolute favorite things to do together at Life Time are Zumba and weight training classes.  We absolutely love all the instructors and trainers and have developed a wonderful relationship with each and every one of them.  This makes it easy for us to come to them when we need help with questions regarding our fitness goals.  Going to the gym together has become one of our top priorities.  We have fun there, get healthy there, and meet some amazing people there!  Life Time has become our safe place.  It is the place we go when we are happy, sad, stressed out, etc.  Life Time has brought my sister and I closer together, and it feels so amazing to be able to bond over health and fitness.

Georgie’s Story

All my life I was always in shape. I was in gymnastics and cheerleading, and always managed to stay fit. When I was 21 years old, I got pregnant with my daughter and gained a lot of weight. I figured that after I had her, I would be able to drop all the baby weight. Of course, I dropped some of it, but it seemed like no matter what I did, I just could not get back to my pre-baby body. When my daughter was born, my husband was suffering from mental and physical health conditions, so it became very difficult for me to be able to work out on a regular basis and prepare healthy meals.

I became severely depressed and my mental and physical health was rapidly declining. With everything going on in my life, I just could not get a hold on a healthy way of life. A few years later, my husband went missing, and about a year after he went missing, his body was recovered. After all that happened, I was traumatized, and being a single mother was harder than ever. I was not focused on my health at all.

After years of feeling unattractive, unmotivated, and hopeless, I decided that it was time for me to get myself together and get healthy. I wanted to be a good role model for my daughter. I started to look up gyms in the area I could go to. I tried several gyms, and I just did not feel like they were gyms I could call home. I never had the motivation to want to go to the gym, and it was always a chore. I used to pass Life Time multiple times a week, and one day it just stood out to me. I decided to just go and take a tour. I fell in love the minute I walked through the doors. From that day on, I knew I had found my new gym home.

Since being a member at Life Time, my life has changed in so many positive ways. The absolute best part of my day is being at Life Time. The environment, the amenities, the staff, the classes, the instructors, the members, etc., are just not comparable to any other gym I have ever been to. Since becoming a member at Life Time, I have managed to get my mental and physical health back on track. I am in the best shape I have been in since my daughter was born 12 years ago. I owe this 100% to the instructors and trainers at Life Time who took the time to get to know me and help me on my weight loss journey. They go above and beyond for their members, and it is such a relief.

Life Time helped me achieve my goals by providing classes and instructors that really know what they are doing and push their members to work hard and get results. I attend 2, sometimes 3 group fitness classes a day and I love them so much. During this 60day challenge, I also went out of my comfort zone and used the second floor with all the weight machines and state-of-the-art equipment. I have developed the confidence from the trainers to be able to use the equipment that I never thought I would be able to use. After these hard and intense workouts, the staff has taught me how to use the vibration plates to get an amazing stretch to help me from getting too sore! It has been so great! On top of the machines, and the classes, I have started using the sauna to help my muscles to recover even more.

The Life Time Training App has been my go-to for all my health needs. I get to record all my workouts, my meals, my stats, progress pictures, and calories burned. The best part of the app is that I am constantly connected with my trainer. If anything ever comes up or I have a question, they are available to me at all times! So convenient! I also love how there are other members in the chatroom that we can get support and encouragement. Life Time really is like a family.

I participated in the last 60day challenge, mostly to support my sister who has also been a huge inspiration to me on my weight loss journey. Life Time has also brought my sister and I closer together and we bond over maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We would not have been able to do that without the help of Life Time. Just watching how dedicated my sister was to get fit, and going to the gym multiple times a day, gave me the motivation I needed to step it up. She and I owe all our health and success to Life Time! We feel so blessed to have been able to find this community as it is such a large part of our lives. The first challenge I did to just be by her side, but I enjoyed it so much and felt like it kept me on the right track, so now I am doing this challenge for myself!

I plan to maintain my new healthy weight by continuing to use the recipes and tips that were provided to us when we started the 60day challenge. I also plan to continue to come and work out at the gym every single day as I have been. Although I am not yet at my final goal health-wise, I am so much closer to where I want to be because of this challenge. I cannot wait to keep working hard at the gym, eating healthy, and listening to the trainers at Life Time so that I can be the best me I can be!
