I’ve completed two 60day Challenges in the past. The last two years I have been with Life Time, I’ve participated in a wide array of studio classes, cycling, yoga, and semi-private training. However, this 60day was going to be different. My aim was to create significant change while learning how to sustain results around nutrition, fitness, workout regimens, and obtaining a healthy way of life.
I made the commitment to my family, my health, and to myself to go all in and experience Life Time’s Dynamic Personal Training.
I spoke to my husband about not seeing as much progress as I wanted and he was the catalyst that encouraged me to go all in and experience Dynamic Personal Training as he had. You see, my husband is my inspiration. He has done what most people can’t. He had extensive back surgery and gained weight as a result. Over a year ago I encouraged him to seek out personal training. He started his three-day-a-week program with Gage C, a DPT coach in Pickerington, and achieved an incredible body recomp resulting in losing 35lbs and 12% body fat. His dedication to the process and unwavering faith in his coach is the reason he is now in the best shape of his life. He changed so much emotionally and mentally for the better, that it inspired me to want to become the best version of myself for the both of us. I decided to meet with Andrew M.
Andrew opened my eyes to the importance of having a compressive program that addressed and provided solutions relevant to my individual wants, needs, and physiology.
Andrew tailored my program to include strength, conditioning, recovery & mobility, nutrition & supplementation, sleep & stress, metabolic & hormone health, and ultimately, behavior change: the x-factors required to create and sustain the positive change and healthier lifestyle I wanted for myself and my family.
During this 60day journey, I realized I had addictions to food. Reframing and retraining my mind about food would prove to be the most difficult challenge. I didn’t realize the major impact the food I had been consuming had on my daily life. As my nutrition protocols evolved in my mind, I did not think I would be able to hang out with friends because food is what brings friends and family together. Due to my job as a nurse, I typically work 12-hour shifts. In my profession, people bring sweets and ultra-processed foods every week. I thought about so many “what ifs”, which led to uneasiness and fear.
I spoke to Andrew about these issues and he was quick to deploy tactics to help me attack my fears, including the profound importance of breath work. He adjusted my specific nutrition and workout protocols week to week to help me heal my body both mentally and physically. During these past 60 days, I gained so much more than just physical changes of losing over 15 pounds and 7% body fat. Mentally I feel like I’ve developed a new level of grit and willpower. I started meditating and really focusing on having a growth mindset. Andrew pushed me way out of my comfort zone and I had no choice but to push through the discomfort of developing a different, healthier relationship with food. I am now in control of food versus it having control over me. I want to be an inspiration to others like my husband is for me. I want to be an example for my four teenage sons. I want them to see that when they are faced with something hard to keep pushing past what they think is possible in that moment, stay determined and that anything can be accomplished if you put in the time and effort.
During this 60day experience, I’ve learned that I don’t need to eat at a certain prescribed time or the first feeling of hunger, or when I’m bored. I’ve gained the freedom to make wise decisions with my nutrition and to feel the freedom that brings in my ability to move without pain. I’ve learned that I can wait for the right food and I don’t need to settle for the wrong food. I’ve learned that I’m in control of how I look and feel and that the two are not mutually exclusive. My confidence has returned and I now feel more empowered than ever to create the healthiest and happiest life for myself and my family. Working with Andrew, experiencing Dynamic Personal Training paired with the 60day Challenge make for are truly life-changing experience and a recipe for success!
